Artichoke Basille's will open soon in Newington.

NEWINGTON, CT — Artichoke Basille's Pizza will open its first of five Connecticut locations in Newington on Valentine's Day.

The restaurant will have a fundraiser the day before its grand opening. On Feb. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. all proceeds will go to the Newington High School SafeGrad event. On Feb. 14 the restaurant will celebrate its grand opening at 11 a.m. and have a Sweetheart deal all day with a $9 special for two slices of pizza and two sodas.

The Newington location will have 1,600 square feet of space and seating for 35 people along with a full service bar.

Artichoke Basille's was founded in 2008 by cousins and fourth-generation restaurateurs Francis Garcia and Sal Basille. The pizza is made with a thick crust to hold heavy toppings like artichoke cream sauce.

“We’ve been anxiously awaiting this day ever since we first signed on with Fran, Sal, and the Artichoke team, and it feels surreal that our Grand Opening is now on the horizon,” said Connecticut franchisee Matthew Rusconi. “The Newington community has been just as excited about this new location as we have, which only makes us want to give them the best, baddest, and most unforgettable Artichoke experience possible."
