Wanted Man Arrested After Traffic Stop: Newington PD

A man wanted in connection with a shooting was taken into custody during a traffic stop, police said.

NEWINGTON, CT — A wanted Farmington man was arrested by Newington Police after a motor vehicle stop Tuesday.

Officers had been patrolling the area around Plaza Azteca after a recent stabbing. They located a vehicle with a license plate that didn't match the registration, police said.

The vehicle was pulled over on the Berlin Turnpike. Operator Kenneth Darryl Jones, 22, had an active arrest warrant from Stratford Police that stems from a recent shooting, police said.

He was taken into custody and transferred over to Stratford Police.
