Bodies Of 2 Fishermen Recovered From River In New Milford

Two men died while fishing last week on the Housatonic River.

NEW MILFORD, CT — The bodies of two fisherman have been recovered from the Housatonic River after the men were reported missing, according to The Associated Press. Johnny Sanchez, 23, and Wilson Pacheco, 35, were fishing at Bleachery Dam on Wednesday night when one of them fell into the river.

The other man tried to rescue him but the river swept both away. Sanchez's body was found Friday morning, and Pacheco was found Saturday morning.

Both men lived at the same address in Danbury, The Associated Press reported.
