Highly Respected Local Journalist Passed Away
Suzan Tuz, a New Milford journalist for two decades, has died after a brief battle with cancer.

NEW MILFORD, CT — The News Times reportedthat longtime journalist Susan Tuz passed Saturday after a battle with cancer at the age of 67. Tuz worked as a reporter with The News-Times and The Greater New Milford Spectrum for 16 years, according to her LinkedIn page. Her sister, Patricia Tuz Monaco, posted the following message to her friends on Facebook:
"It is with a very heavy and sad heart that I am putting this post on Susan's page.....our sister passed away yesterday from a very courageous and hard fought 4 1/2 month battle with cancer. In her true spirit she met this challenge head on and would not give in. Thank you to everyone that kept Sue in their prayers and continued support. She has an amazing circle of friends and family. Godspeed....."
Her sister said Susan was diagnosed with lymphoma of the central nervous system on July 4, 2016, a very aggressive form of cancer. Tuz volunteered her time at Loaves and Fishes, a soup kitchen in New Milford, the paper reported.
