A Humble Request from TheatreWorks New Milford

This year we make our Annual Fundraising appeal with two things in mind.

First, we recognize and appreciate those of who you have been supported us in the past. Second, due to COVID19, TheatreWorks has had to cancel our productions. COVID19 has been devastating to us and all arts organizations across the country. We plan to reopen in the Spring with new safety measures in place to protect our patrons and our artists.

Our current 2020 plan is to present VIRTUAL STAGED READINGS, one coming soon on December 19. We will be holding our One Act Competition “Tales from the Brookside” (also virtually) in January/February and restart our TW Kids program as well.

During this down-time, we have had time to study how best to reassure you that attending one of our productions in the future will be safe for you, our volunteers, and our cast and crew members. This will take some doing on our part. It will take some adjustments to our theater and it will increase our operating costs.

Very bluntly, we need your help.

Since we had to shut down our operations in March, we have lost over 65% of our usual annual revenues. Our recurring monthly expenses (utilities, insurance, administration, telephone, accounting, grounds, etc.) average $5,000 per month. Thus, we continue to struggle to survive.

We humbly ask for your continued help. Your donation will not only go toward operational costs, but also to much needed infrastructure repairs, some of which will assure we meet our plans to respond to COVID19. In the past years, thanks to your donations, we have replaced light fixtures, restored our roof, repaired our fire escape, and improved other features of our facilities.

We continue to need your donations – large or small - so we may continue our legacy of providing theatre experiences which change lives.
