New Guide to Giving Highlights Philanthropy of Local Residents

Connecticut Community Foundation, highlights the philanthropic endeavors of Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills residents.

From Connecticut Community Foundation: Connecticut Community Foundation has released a new Guide to Giving which highlights the philanthropic endeavors of Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills residents to enrich communities in the region and describes customizable charitable giving opportunities for financial and estate planning.

The Guide features the stories of Lisa Powers and Fred Baker of New Milford, Samantha and Rob Nobile of Southbury, Emily and Eric Anderson of Woodbury,Valerie Friedman of Washington and Dolores Riollano of Waterbury.

Through their community involvement with many organizations, Lisa Powers and Fred Baker came to a profound awareness of local needs and issues. They are most committed to the idea that all people have a right to medical access, to education that leads to success in life and to the inspirational power of the creative arts. They have established an unrestricted endowment fund at Connecticut Community Foundation and have also included the Foundation in their estate plans—all dedicated to addressing the community’s most pressing needs, now and forever.

Paula Van Ness, president and CEO of the Foundation, said, “Since 1923, thousands of people have created and grown philanthropic funds through the Foundation to help Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills thrive. We expect the Guide to Giving to be a vital resource for financial and estate planners, community residents, and donors and potential donors who wish to make more charitable visions reality.”
