New Milford Joins Economic Development Initiative

The program's goal is to make towns in the state greener and forward thinking when it comes to energy usage.

NEW MILFORD, CT --- The town of New Milford has joined a growing list of Connecticut communities that will participate in the "Sustainable CT" program, an economic development program started last November by the Institute for Sustainable Energy at Eastern Connecticut State University and the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities. The program's goal is to make towns in the state greener and forward thinking when it comes to energy usage.

Mayor Pete Bass said, "“We are excited to partner with Sustainable CT as another opportunity New Milford will have to enhance the quality of life for its residents, businesses and future.”

Sustainable CT is designed to boost local economic, help municipal operations become more efficient, reduce operating costs, and provide grants and additional support to municipalities.
