New Milford Bookstore To Close In February
The owners are hoping to sell the business between now and then.

NEW MILFORD, CT — Bank Street Book Nook is slated to close on February 11, owners Vanessa and David Gronbach announced in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
The two bought the store in 2014 when it was about to close, but Vanessa's law practice has grown in recent months which she writes has made it difficult to give the store the attention it needs to stay afloat.
"It is with heavy heart that we must inform our customers that we will be closing the bookstore on February 11, 2018," she stated. "As many of you know my husband and I bought the bookstore in February 2014 after reading an article in the Spectrum that the store would be closing if a buyer was not found. At that time in my life I had just dissolved my practice in NY and was transitioning my practice to CT, so I guess you can say it was the perfect time to 'save' the bookstore.

"It has been a struggle to keep the store open and with my law practice growing I cannot personally contribute the hours necessary to keep the store going as a hobby."
The two are holding out hope that another buyer comes along, but in the meantime they want to thank their loyal customers for all the support.

"We would like to personally thank our loyal customers who have been kind and supportive, those that would place orders from us because they were invested in us and appreciated the personal service we offered. You have been an amazing group of people and we thank you."
