New Milford Moves Up In Girls Cross Country Coaches Poll

The Green Wave are rated among the state's top girls cross country teams in the most recent balloting of high school coaches.

NEW MILFORD, CT — Glastonbury reclaimed the top position in the latest weekly girls cross country coaches poll, while Xavier remained on top in the boys' rankings.

The Tomahawk girls received nine of 10 first-place votes to bounce back into the top spot from the No. 2 position. Danbury collected the other first-place vote to jump from fourth to second, while previous No. 1 Hall and Trumbull tied for third.

New Milford moved up two spots, placing seventh in the most recent balloting.

On the boys' side, Xavier was tabbed first on six of nine ballots to stay atop the rankings, followed by Tolland and Hall.

Here are the top 10 for girls and boys, including first-place votes in parentheses and last week's ranking, along with all other schools receiving support.
