New Milford Municipal Building Committee Advances to Final Step
The New Milford Town Council voted unanimously to approve the creation of a permanent municipal building committee

NEW MILFORD, CT — The Town Council unanimously approved the creation of a permanent municipal building committee.
The decision was a unanimous one by the Town Council on Monday night, the News-Times is reporting.
The committee would work to prevent delays and budget overruns, such as happened last year with the replacement of oil tanks at the schools' central offices. Those projects ran $150,000 over budget.

The new committee would be staffed with six to nine members and include local experts in the building trades, as well as a representative from the Town Council and the boards of finance and education.
The new committee now awaits a town meeting for ratification.
