NEW MILFORD, CT — Police have identified two Bronx men as the drowning victims discovered in the Housatonic River over the weekend.

Dive teams recovered the bodies of Alexander Osoria-Paredes, 21, and Luis Hernandez-Cuello, 24, on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Police have been searching for the men since last Wednesday, when Osoria-Paredes went into the water to help Hernandez-Cuello, who appeared to be struggling. Neither man returned to shore.

The men and their families were visiting from the Bronx, and having a picnic along the river and swimming in the area of the Bull's Bridge power plant.
