New Milford Road Work Progresses
The town uses chip sealing, one of the most commonly used pavement preservation techniques.

NEW MILFORD, CT — Mayor Pete Bass took to social media to update residents on the progress of the chip sealing of the town's roads.
Chip sealing has been completed on: Hillside Avenue, Brookside Avenue, Weantinock Drive, Heacock Lane, Taylor Terrace, Scovill Street, and Sand Road. Chip sealing for Country Farm Lane, Chinmoy Road, Carl's Lane, Clearview Drive, Bonnybrook Drive, Sullivan Court, Tamarack Drive, Fox Run, Rabbit Lane, Willow Road, Birch Road, and Linden Lane began this week.
According to Asphalt Magazine, chip sealing is one of the most commonly used pavement preservation techniques. Specifically, it is "an asphalt binder sprayed on a prepared pavement surface, followed immediately by an application of aggregate (chips). Rolling then seats the chips in the binder. After curing, the surface is broomed to remove any loose aggregate."
