New Milford Schools Close For 2 Days Due To Coronavirus

A school-community member recently tested positive for the virus.

NEW MILFORD, CT — New Milford schools will close for two days following a school community member testing positive for the virus, according to a letter from district officials. The person who tested positive was asymptomatic and sought the test because of family members' positive test results.

"We have not received any other reports of staff or students who have experienced symptoms or signs of illness," the letter reads. "In partnership with the District, New Milford's Department of Health will conduct contact tracing as part of its protocol."

School and health department officials will reach out to any staff and the parents/guardians of children who may have had the potential for close contact, which is defined as being within six feet of an infected person for more than fifteen minutes.
