Obituary: Catherine C. Morey, 89, of New Milford
Catherine owned and operated Morey's IGA grocery store for many years, and was a past member of the New Milford First Congregational Church.

NEW MILFORD, CT — Catherine C. Morey, 89, passed away on August 28, 2018 at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna, WI, following a brief battle with cancer. Catherine will be greeted in heaven by her loving husband Richard, parents William P. and Ella G. Clarke, brother Peter W. Clarke, and granddaughter Jennifer L. Kindilien.
Born April 26, 1929 in Woodville, Catherine was a graduate of Washington High School. On April 25, 1948, she and Richard were wed and together they owned and operated Morey's IGA grocery store in New Milford for many years. Catherine was a past member of the New Milford First Congregational Church. After Richard's passing in 1987, she resided in Port St. Lucie, FL; Edgewater, FL; Westminster, MD; and Appleton, WI, and enjoyed many summers on Big Lake in Gresham, WI.
Catherine, affectionately known as "The Cuckster," was an avid quilter and reader. She loved coffee, ice cream, and visiting with family and friends.

Catherine is survived by her children Thomas (Pam) Morey of New Milford, Christine Morey Kindilien of Hanover, PA, and Lisa (Scott) Williams of Neenah, WI; her grandchildren Kristin (Brian) Johnson, Kevin (Sara) Morey, Austin (Lisa) Williams, Nicole (Ben) Ropella, Brianne (Michael) Van Dyke, and Hannah (Ryan) Schmidt. Catherine leaves behind four great grandchildren who loved their "GG" dearly, Paige and Ellie Morey, and Wiliam and Charlie Ropella.
In her final years, Catherine received exceptional care from the staff at Touchmark Senior Living and St. Paul Elder Services, for which the family is forever indebted. Also special thanks are extended to Dr. Jack Anderson of ThedaCare and Dr. Kyung Ai Chae of Kagen Dermatology for their compassionate care over the last several years.
