Jeff Morell, from New Fairfield, nominated Callahan, saying “Patrick’s selfless focus on supporting his local community is unprecedented. In the times ahead we need someone with an open ear and a proven dedication to our residents. Pat has proven his consistency, perseverance and loyalty -- all without forgetting those who put in the hard work before him.”
Ed Hayes, a former Selectmen in Sherman, Delegate to the Candlewood Lake Authority, and now Commander of the Sherman Veterans, seconded the nomination, adding “I could not think of another candidate that could match Pat’s qualities of honesty, integrity, commitment to service, leadership and a hard working approach to responsibility of office.”
Callahan filed for his candidacy with the CT Secretary of State in January and began working on the campaign immediately. He has earned the unanimous endorsements from all four Republican Town Committees in the 108th district, along with endorsement from former State Reps. Richard Smith and Mary Ann Carson.
