Police ID New Milford Teen Who Drowned in Litchfield Lake

NEW MILFORD, CT — Police have identified the man who died after being pulled from Bantam Lake in Litchfield on Sunday.

Leonel Salvador, 19, of New Milford, died after he was pulled from the lake about 50 yards from shore by members of the Goshen Dive Team, police report.

Emergency crews responded to a call about a swimmer who did not resurface from the lake at around 3:30 p.m. Salvador was pronounced dead at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital around 5 p.m.
