The temporary closure is necessary to facilitate the approved movement of a permitted oversize/overweight vehicle carrying a transformer weighing 476,700 pounds on a specialized, 12-axle trailer.
The transportation of the transformer includes the utilization of jumper bridges at several smaller bridge crossings within the limits of the proposed route thereby requiring the temporary shutdown of the road until the load passes and the jumpers can be removed.
