Winter Team State Championship History: New Milford High School
Green Wave squads have accounted for nine state team championships in winters past.
NEW MILFORD, CT — As practices for high school winter sports officially get underway in Connecticut Monday (girls basketball, ice hockey and wrestling) and Thursday (boys basketball, indoor track, boys swimming and girls gymnastics), hopes run high for all teams to achieve the ultimate goal: winning a league championship, and possibly a state title.
To help squads get into the championship mentality, here is a listing of the nine CIAC winter team titles won by New Milford High School in past years (* - indicates a co-op team).
- wrestling (5) - Class L: 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2011
- girls gymnastics (2) - State Open: 2010; Class M: 1995
- boys ice hockey (1) - Div. II: 1992
- boys indoor track (1) - Class S: 1959
