On Tuesday, May 8th, I happened to look into my back yard to spot a bobcat sitting in the shade. It was a warm day and I imagine the heat likely drew him to the shade and recent visits of wild turkey hens probably added some draw. I know our yard is on his regular trail as we've captured him on our trail cam at night. I was safely behind the glass of my back storm door and I don't think this big fellow could see me because the sunlight likely caused the trees to reflect on the glass hiding me. Eventually he lay in the mossy area and licked his paws, languishing in the lovely afternoon. Ultimately, the glint of my phone must have caught his eye, whereupon he stood, stretched his limbs, and walked slowly away, glancing back in my direction, now and again. I managed to capture his exit on video! Truly a magical event!
