NORTH BRANFORD, CT - North Branford will receive $571,000 less in state aid next year than it received this year under Gov. Ned Lamont's budget plan released on Wednesday.

In addition, North Branford would receive more than $1.1 million less the following fiscal year than it does this year if the plan submitted by Lamont wins approval.

Part of the costs incurred by North Branford and all the towns under Lamont's plan is helping, for the first time, pay for the cost of teacher retirement. In North Branford, those costs would be $83,000 next year and more than $170,000 the following year.
