North Branford Begins Road 'Chip Seal' Resurfacing

A total of 18 roads throughout the town are slated to receive the work.

North Branford, CT - The town is beginning its annual road improvement program this month with the installation of new chip-seal surfaces on select roads, North Branford officials announced.

Chip sealing is the placement of a small stone chip surface over an asphalt emulsion base.  Exactly how long the project will take was not disclosed.

"Loose stones may be present for a period of a week or more on the roads, which will subsequently be removed by the contractor," officials wrote in a statement on the town's website. "All residents are requested to drive slowly during and after the placement of the stone chip on these streets. No parking will be allowed on the streets during this time period."
