North Branford Deputy Chief A Graduate Of Prestigious FBI School

The National Academy students are considered the top 1% of law enforcement leaders from around the world.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT - North Branford Deputy Police Chief James Lovelace recently graduated from the prestigious FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, a feat that ranks him as one of the top 1 % of law enforcement leaders from around the world.

The 278th session included 258 law enforcement officers from 49 states and the District of Columbia.

The class included law enforcement agencies from 37 countries, four military organizations and six federal civilian organizations.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the NA offers 11 weeks of advanced communication, leadership and fitness training. FBI instructors are recognized internationally in their fields.

Lovelace is a veteran of the department as he was hired in 2004. He was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 2012, to the rank of Lieutenant in 2016 which was then followed by a nine month term as the department's Interim Chief of Police from June 2018 - May 2019.

The 10-week program at the FBI's National Academy, which covered course work in intelligence theory, terrorism and terrorist minders and management science.

Deputy Chief Lovelace is a member of both the South Central Regional SWAT team and the South Central Regional Traffic Unit.

In 2014 Deputy Chief Lovelace received the Exchange Club's Shoreline Hero Award. He also volunteers his time within the surrounding communities as well as in North Branford.

The North Branford Police Department would like to congratulate Deputy Chief Lovelace on the successful completion of this program.
