They now advance to a regional tournament.

Maissa Caso, Sophia Ouellet, Mia DeLoughery, Bella Hills and Erica Piercey led the way offensively as North Branford, 12-2 in the post season, scored six runs in the first inning.

North Branford opened the series Saturday with a 3-2 behind the 12-strikeout, no-walk performance of Piercey. Madison/Clinton captured the second game, 5-4, in eight innings, forcing Monday’s tiebreaker.
With the win, North Branford advances to the 10U Eastern Regional Softball Tournament in Old Forge, Pa., beginning Saturday against Vermont.
