Obituary: Lynette Helen Congo Alex, 62, of Northford

NORTHFORD, CT - (From Washington Memorial Funeral Home) Lynette Helen Congo Alex, 62 of Northford died peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 28, 2021 with her loving family by her side.

Lynette was born in New Haven on September 19, 1958, a daughter of the late Ralph and Aida Sagnella Congo.

She grew up in East Haven, and was a 1976 graduate of East Haven High School.

She had resided in Northford for the past 42 years.

Lynette was a customer service representative for several area manufacturing companies including Bausch & Strobel of North Branford where she worked for five years until retiring in 2019.

She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Alex and her husband Shaun Altschuler, and Michelle Alex and her partner Rob Forbotnick of Northford, her longtime companion Thomas Mintell of Northford, one sister, Jean LaRiviere of New Haven, three brothers, John “Jack” Congo and his wife Lois of Wallingford, David Congo and his wife Lynn of West Springfield, MA and Ralph Congo and his longtime companion Kathy of North Branford, and three beloved grandchildren, Alex and Evan Forbotnick, and Aubrey Altschuler.

Lynette’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, March 5th from 8:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.

Her funeral procession will leave from the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Parish (St. Augustine Church), 30 Caputo Rd., North Branford at 11:30 a.m.

Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
