Obituary: Thomas Frederick French, 88, of North Branford

Tom French was a longtime resident of North Branford passed away peacefully at his daughter's residence in SC.

Thomas Frederick French, at age of 88 passed away on November 23, 2020, born in New Haven Connecticut to deceased father & mother, Frederick & Stella (Boguski) French; brother, Richard French; also his wife, Madeline (Mickey Raucci) French and son, Robert French.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to1954 in the operations of the secret service under

President Dwight D. Eisenhower and continued in the National Guard until 1960.

He was the last employee to service A.C. Gilberts Company in New Haven, Connecticut in the 1960s and was then employed until his retirement from Detroit Steel later known as Cyclops Steel-A.K. Steel Company in Hamden, Connecticut. Beginning in the early 1970s he was a licensed electrician and advanced to plant superintendent.

Thomas and his wife, Mickey, who were married September 20, 1952, were long-time residents of North Branford, Connecticut. Over their last forty years they traveled, as snowbirds, back and forth to Tamiami Village in North Fort Myers, Florida.

Tom will always be remembered for his hands-on talents getting things built, fixed, or needed resolved in daily life. He was a constant supporter and contributor of Wounded Warriors Soldiers, Disabled & Paralyzed Veterans as well as many other organizations.

He is survived by his daughter, Belinda (Lee) French of SC, a daughter-n-law, Laura French of MO, along with four grandchildren, Lysha (Rick) Cremone of MA, Amanda Lockwood of MA, Tom French of MO, and Rebecca (Robert) Reyna of IL; besides nieces & nephews and other close family members & friends.

Thomas French was laid to rest on November 30, 2020 at the East Lawn Cemetery in East Haven, Connecticut next to his wife Mickey. A memorial service will later be held at the cemetery for all of family and friends to attend and celebrate the life of Thomas French.
