Riding the Rails for New Year's 2015
Headed to New York or a friend's party? Metro-North has expanded its schedule so you don't have to drive.

For New Year’s Eve revelers, Metro-North Railroad says, “Ring in the New Year with us!”
Whether you are heading to Times Square to watch the ball drop or are planning to spend a quiet evening with friends, the railroad has scheduled extra service to get you to and from your holiday celebrations.
- For New Year’s Eve (Thursday, Dec. 31), they will operate a modified weekday morning and afternoon peak service, with an early afternoon getaway schedule.
- Train consolidations in the AM Peak, extra outbound service between 12 noon and 4 PM, and consolidated service during the PM Peak.
- Extra inbound late afternoon and early evening service.
- ”Overnight” New Year’s morning service to get you home from your celebrations.
But one thing to remember — drinking alcohol on Metro-North trains and at all stations is banned from 12 noon New Year’s Eve until 12 noon New Year’s Day.
