Support a North Branford Family, Help Restore JHS's Courtyard

Matt's Mission is helping the Prato family after the loss of loved ones, restoring Jerome Harrison's courtyard in their honor.

On Dec. 12, three women were killed when an intoxicated wrong-way driver struck their car on I-95, including Barbara Prato and Marjorie Minore, the mother and grandmother of North Branford's Chris Prato.

Matt's Mission has headed up a memorial for the women in the form of restoring the courtyard at Jerome Harrison Elementary School.

"Beautiful gardens full of life will be planted at Jerome Harrison School, not only in loving memory of Barbara and Marjorie, but also to show our community support for the Prato/Minore families," blogged Lynn Riordan, founder of Matt's Mission.

Riordan said that Lasse Simonsen, owner of Team Landscaping, will professionally design, plant and mulch the gardens. Other improvements will include new solar lamp posts to replace the existing lamps, cleaning and staining the gazebo and powerwashing the walkway.
