Bridgeport Man, 22, Killed In Single Car Crash On Route 15

Jose Gilberto Olivo-Figueroa lost control of the car he was driving, police said, and was pronounced dead at Yale New Haven Hospital.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A 22-year-old Bridgeport man was killed Saturday night after the car he was driving veered off the road striking a number of trees in North Haven, police said.

According to a report from Connecticut State Police, Jose Gilberto Olivo-Figueroa lost control of the Toyota Corolla he was driving south on Route 15 between exits 64 and 63 and veered into the right shoulder and off the roadway into trees.

Olivo-Figueroa was taken by ambulance to Yale New Haven Hospital for life threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the report.

A passenger in the car was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital for minor injuries, state police said.

Police said the car was heavily damaged.
