Cabaret Comes to North Haven Library
Ashly Cruz will perform a French/American-themed Cabaret at the North Haven Library May 21.

Ashly Cruz will perform a French/American Themed Cabaret at the North Haven Library on Saturday, May 21 at 2pm.. Listen to the songs of Edith Piaf, Yves Montand, Patricia Kaas and Charles Aznevour. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the North Haven Library and free to the public. To guarantee a seat at the performance, registration is suggested by calling 203-239-5803.
A Connecticut native, Ashly began her career as a young, professional ballet dancer and a star in the Hartford Ballet Company. She later became a founding member and a prominent choreographer of the Hartford Contemporary Dance Theater. She continued pursuing herdreams byearning her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Carnegie Mellon University, in the prestigiousMusical Theater Drama DepartmentWhile living in Los Angeles, Ashly formed and became the lead singer of the rock band "Taboo You", which headlined at The Roxy and The Whiskey on Hollywood's Sunset Strip.After the break-up of the band, she shifted her interests to Nashville, where she then put together a special French/American Cabaret show and performed at a number of Five Diamond establishments drawing in large crowds.

Upon returning to her home state, Ashly has headlined at BB King's Dance Club atFoxwoods Casino on their Thursday "Caribbean Night" and at the "Taste Of Hartford" event. Ashly was also the featured performer every Friday and Saturday night dancing and singing to Merengue, Salsa, Cumbia, Bachata, Disco and Rock at "La Vie En Rose Bistro" in New London, CT.
