Car Bursts Into Flames After Crash On I-91 In North Haven

UPDATE: All lanes have reopened, according to the DOT.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Crews are on the scene of a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a car at Exit 10 on I-91. Lanes are closed on both sides of the highway. The left lane is closed between Exits 12 and 10 on I-91 South. The left two lanes are closed between Exits 10 and 11 on I-91 North, according to the state DOT.

“A disabled motor vehicle was struck by a tractor trailer and burst into flames,” the North Haven Fire Department wrote in a post on social media. “Occupants fortunately were not within the vehicle at the time. If your car is disabled always utilize the breakdown lane and stand far away.”
