Lightning Strike Starts Fire In North Haven
Arriving crews found a garage fully engulfed in flames, according to fire officials.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — No injuries were reported after crews extinguished a garage fire that was likely sparked by a lightning strike hitting a tree Wednesday afternoon in North Haven.
Crews responded to 44 Fitch St. at 3:20 p.m. after a resident called 911 reporting a lightning strike and a fire within a garage. Arriving units found a detached garage fully engulfed in flames, according to fire officials.
“The only exposure concern was an automobile in the driveway as fortunately the garage was far enough away from all other surrounding structures,” officials wrote in a post on Facebook. “The fire was quickly brought under control and an investigation into the cause of the fire was initiated.”
