Dick’s Sporting Goods Closing Stores Temporarily

Dick's Sporting Goods, which has 12 locations in CT, is temporarily closing its retail stores to help stop the spread of the new coronavirus

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Dick’s Sporting Goods is temporarily closing all of its retail locations for two weeks to help stop the spread of the new coronavirus, officials announced Wednesday. Dick’s is closing effective March 18 and plans to reopen Thursday, April 2. The closing includes all Dick’s Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy and Field & Stream stores, officials said.

“We will remain open and ready to serve our customers via our mobile apps and online, and through our new Curbside Contactless Pickup service at our DICK’S and Golf Galaxy stores,” Ed Stack, chairman and CEO of Dick’s Sporting Goods, said in an announcement. “During this time, our curbside pickup option will be available to customers between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., seven days a week.

“We realize the impact a closure can have on our teammates, and this is not a decision we made lightly. To help alleviate challenges during this temporary closure, we will be providing full pay and benefits during this two-week time frame for all teammates.
