Driver, 10 Dogs Rescued After Rollover Crash On I-91
Firefighters extricated a driver and 10 dogs that were contained in crates after a rollover crash on I-91 in North Haven on Tuesday night.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — Firefighters extricated a driver and 10 dogs from a vehicle after a rollover crash Tuesday night on I-91 in North Haven, according to fire officials.
North Haven firefighters responded to the area of Exit 9 on I-91 North around 7:30 p.m. on the report of a rollover crash.
“E9 from the Montowese station and R1 from HQ arrived on scene to find one vehicle on its side with the occupant still inside,” fire officials wrote in a post on Facebook. “Firefighters worked to remove the driver from the van and also found 10 dogs within the van contained to crates. North Haven animal control officers were dispatched to the scene to secure the dogs and assess for injuries. Fortunately the driver was not seriously injured and none of the dogs were found to be injured.”
