NORTH HAVEN, CT — K-9 Taro helped sniff out a drug bust by intercepting nearly 5 pounds of marijuana in a delivery service Wednesday in North Haven, according to police.

Police didn’t offer much information about the incident in a post on Facebook, but did have a response ready for commenters who usually point out that efforts are underway to legalize recreational marijuana in Connecticut.

“K-9 Taro scored himself a nice treat today with just under 5lbs of marijuana intercepted in a delivery service,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Yes, we know what you’re thinking, soon it will be legal. Also, no, Taro and his handler did not have anything better to do at the moment.”
