This weekend's weather isn't going to be good but there is some excellent news weather-wise for next week.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — The latest details on the Mother’s Day weekend forecast in North Haven includes lots of rain, but once we get past this weekend, we're finally looking at a nice weather week coming up.
We're looking at plenty of sunshine next week and temps will finally be in the 70s. But before we get there, we could be dealing with a cold, wind-soaked rain, which could lead to another inch or two of rain. (To sign up for North Haven breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons wrote, "Lots of clouds and some sunshine today with our temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s. More clouds tonight leading to rain moving in on Saturday. The rain will be moving in very slowly starting around 8 AM western Connecticut and it might take until 3-4 PM eastern Connecticut. Heavy rain Saturday night, ending early on Sunday. Not a washout, but a few scattered showers possible for Mother's Day."

Saturday: Rain, mainly after 11am. High near 56. East wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Saturday Night: Rain. Low around 45. East wind 11 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
Sunday: Rain likely, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 59. Northwest wind 10 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Sunday Night: A 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48.
