Man Charged After Allegedly Beating, Strangling Girlfriend
The 23-year-old woman was found bleeding and hiding in some bushes on Anthony Road on Friday.

North Haven police charged a 29-year-old man with assault, strangulation and unlawful restraint after his girlfriend was found on Friday hiding in some bushes at an Anthony Road home, bleeding from a head wound.
A press release issues by Lt. Kevin Glenn said that the 23-year-old woman was found hiding and injured by an Anthony Road homeowner.Â
"Investigators learned the 23 year old injured female had been assaulted by her boyfriend.  The assault took place in the victim’s home where she was beaten and strangled prior to escaping from the residence.  The victim ran through neighbor’s yards until she found a woman who was able to call 911," the release stated. The victim was treated at an area hospital.

Police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Brandon Graton, but he had left the area prior to police arrival. Â
On Saturday, police located Graton, who was attempting to rent a motel room in the Foxon Road area of New Haven.  Graton was taken into custody without incident.  He was charged with Assault Second Degree, Strangulation First Degree, and Unlawful Restraint. Â

Brandon Graton was held on a $250,000 bond and will appear in Meriden Superior Court on Monday June 17, 2013, police said.Â
