Man Charged In Armed Robbery Of Home Depot: North Haven Police

The man is accused of showing a gun while stealing power tools at the self-checkout at Home Depot, according to police.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A New Haven man has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of Home Depot in North Haven last summer, according to police.

Police responded to The Home Depot at 111 Universal Dr. in July on the report of a robbery.

Store staff was trying to help a customer who was buying power tools at the self-checkout when the man raised his shirt and displayed what appeared to be a gun tucked into his waistband, according to police.

Police said the man then left the store with the tools after staff walked away from him.

Richard Moore, 56, was arrested Thursday on a warrant. He was taken into custody by North Haven detectives in New Haven.

Moore was charged with first-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny. He also has three violation of probation warrants and an active arrest warrant out of Orange, according to police.
