Man Dies In One Car Crash On I-84 In Southington

Police said the man's car struck a guard rail, went over it and rolled before striking a tree.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — One man died early Sunday morning in a one-car crash near the exit 32 ramp, according to a police report.

In the report, police said 52-year-old Robert Signor, of Waterbury, was driving eastbound on Interstate 84 near exit 32 when he lost control of his Subaru Outback.

According to the police report, the car veered left and struck a metal guard rail. It then hopped the guard rail and rolled before striking a tree and coming to rest.

Signor was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police noted in their report.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Police ask anyone who witnessed the crash, or who has dash camera video, to contact (860) 534-1098.
