Just before the incident was reported, a patrol officer saw two vehicles speeding on Washington Avenue.
“The officer attempted to catch up to the vehicles as they entered I-91 South, although he was unable to catch the vehicles or justify a pursuit, considering at the time the officer only observed motor vehicle violations, as the carjacking had not yet been reported,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “It was later learned one of the vehicles observed by the officer was in fact the victim’s vehicle.”
