MC From The Bench - Gigi Russo #44

This girl can hit, this girl can catch, this girl is a leader and she is one of the most important parts of North Haven’s softball defense. She is senior catcher Gigi Russo # 44 and she is one of the best catchers in the state. I had the pleasure of talking to Gigi several nights ago and I asked her what is her favorite part of playing softball.

“Being part of a team. I love playing with my best friend Lauren (Card) and my teammates are always supporting me.” Gigi also thanked her parents, “They are always there for me, they're the best.”

The Indians are now getting ready for the SCC tournament next week and then the state tournament after that. “That’s all this team is focused on right now, we just want to keep winning.” Russo said.

Gigi plans on attending Assumption College in the fall to major in English and play softball in the spring.
