MC From The Bench - Petersen Leads by Example

North Haven’s softball captain Olivia Petersen leads by example. She is the 1st one on the field, the 1st to run to the plate when her teammates hit a homerun, the 1st to cheer on her teammates and the 1st to be in line to shake hands at the end of the game. Oh yea and she's a really good softball player. She is willing to bunt, hit away, steal or back up any base when in the field. When I asked her about her softball career the first thing she said was that she and Peyton Davis (co-captain) have been playing together for 7 years. “ My family, Peyton and our team always have my back, and that's a great feeling.”

I asked her about their success in the SCC tournament, “ We are taking one game at a time and having fun while were doing it. This team is a family and no one can take that away from us.”

Olivia is planning on attending Bentley University and studying business in the fall.

North Haven plays Cheshire on Thursday May 23 at 7pm in West Haven.
