Meet Jennie Caldwell: Democratic Candidate for Fire Commissioner
Her priority is safety and adequate staffing of our fire department through collaboration, open communication, and data-driven decisions.

When Jennie Caldwell moved to North Haven in 2006, she knew this was her forever home. Since then, she has sent her two children through the North Haven school system, served on the Board of Education, and stepped up to lead the Democratic Town Committee in various roles.
Jennie’s passion for advocacy first led her to the North Haven Board of Education. During her 2011-2017 term, Jennie chaired the policy committee and led the district through a policy revision process. She was instrumental in establishing an advisory committee in order to get feedback from key stakeholders such as teachers, parents and students regarding policies under review. As a CABE liaison, she regularly attended workshops and conferences provided by the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education.
On the DTC, Jennie has held several roles. As Events Committee Chair, she planned a variety of fundraisers and community outreach events. As Co-Vice Chair of the DTC, she ran meetings, facilitated a by-laws review, and organized sub-committees within the larger organization. Jennie is currently serving as Treasurer. She is responsible for maintaining funds, filing reports to the SEEC, and providing written reports to committee.
