Meet Kathy Spinato-Grant: Democratic Candidate for Town Clerk
She brings excellent management skills and analytical skills for improving the functionality of the town clerk's office.

Kathy Spinato-Grant has lived in North Haven for 21 years. Her three children have attended North Haven schools, and she has been involved extensively in the community since moving to North Haven in 1998. She is currently employed at a rehabilitation center in Guilford, Connecticut, and works as a per diem teacher for the Wallingford Public Schools. Kathy has a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University and is currently pursuing a degree in Health Information and Records Management at Middlesex College.
Originally from West Haven, Connecticut, Kathy attended Southern CT State University and transferred to ASU in Tempe, Arizona. Upon completing her bachelor’s degree in political science and sociology, she returned to Connecticut and began her career working for the State of Connecticut, Judicial Branch. She worked at Superior Court for Juvenile Matters in New Haven and Support Enforcement Division for the New Haven and Meriden Superior Court as a Support Enforcement Officer. Kathy resigned from the state to be a full-time mother to her three children.
Kathy knows personally what is necessary to overcome hardships and make tough decisions. Kathy has sacrificed and persevered to give her children the most important things they need. When her son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of two, Kathy was determined to give him the best chance possible to live a normal life. That included educating herself about a disease she knew very little about. She and her son, (who is now a senior at North Haven High School), participate in many trial studies for the Yale Pediatric Diabetes clinic to ensure he will see the value and benefits of controlling this chronic disease. Kathy’s oldest daughter is currently pursuing her master’s degree at Sacred Heart University and is a full-time production technician at CT-N in Hartford, while her younger daughter is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in art education at Eastern Connecticut State University and is currently volunteering for Americorps.
