North Haven First Selectman Receives Award

The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association presented North Haven, Connecticut First Selectman Michael Freda MVP with an award for volunteer work in helping prevent heart disease and stroke in Greater New Haven. It was bestowed to him by John Brannelly, Senior Development Director for the Association. First Selectman Freda served on the 2017-2018 Executive Leadership Team of the Greater New Haven Heart Walk and was selected as the group's MVP for his many contributions to program.

The American Heart Association is devoted to saving people from heart disease and stroke – the two leading causes of death in the world. They team with millions of volunteers to fund innovative research, fight for stronger public health policies, and provide lifesaving tools and information to prevent and treat these diseases.
