North Haven Realtors Assist In Sales Of 22 Archdiocese Buildings

Barbara L. Pearce, Chair and CEO of Pearce Real Estate, is pleased to announce that the combined talents of John Bergin, Senior Commercial Specialist, and Dave Melillo, Senior Commercial Associate, resulted in the completed sales transactions of almost two dozen buildings for the Archdiocese of Hartford within the last three years.

Bergin and Melillo sold 22 buildings, in a number of transactions for undisclosed millions of dollars, on multiple campuses within Roman Catholic parishes in the communities of New Haven, Hamden, Cheshire, East Haven and Meriden. The types of buildings that were sold in the various transactions include churches, rectories, convents, parochial schools, and related structures, representing a total of almost 150,000 square feet.

All the buildings were sold to organizations and institutions that continue to employ them for religious and educational purposes, representing several faith traditions; among them a Pentecostal Church of God, a French-speaking Baptist church, a South Korean church, a Greek/Turkish congregation, and Congregation Chabad Lubavitch.

Bergin and Melillo have a combined total of more than 60 years’ experience in the commercial real estate profession and have a lengthy affiliation with the Pearce Real Estate Commercial Division. Bergin holds memberships in the New Haven Middlesex Association of REALTORS® (NHMR), Connecticut Association of REALTORS® (CAR), National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), and the Commercial Investment Division (CID) of the NHMR. Over the past decade, Bergin has received 10 CID “Deal of the Year” recognitions for land, industrial, and investment sales. Since joining Pearce Bergin has been a leader in the Commercial Division for the past seven years.

Melillo has successfully represented numerous national, regional and local clients earning a Top Producing Associate designation in the Industrial and Commercial Division. Melillo is a member and former Director of the State of Connecticut Association of REALTORS® and the New Haven Middlesex Association of REALTORS® of which he is a member of the Board of Directors. He is an active member of the Commercial Investment Division (CID) of the New Haven Middlesex Association of REALTORS® and served as chairman of the New Haven CID in 1998.
