Make-A-Wish Connecticut granted 14-year-old Braden Scasino’s wish to visit the Walt Disney World® Resort for his family’s first vacation.

The warm Florida sunshine, mixed with the magic of the Walt Disney World® Resort, sparked a feeling of pure joy for Braden and his family. Braden, a nonverbal, wheelchair-bound young boy, was so excited to be surrounded by the fantastic sounds and characters that make these magical parks so memorable. He loved the sweet treats and the excitement of the Resort, but nothing topped the precious quality time Braden and his family experienced during their first family vacation together.

“We are now spoiled, as this was our first family vacation,” said Braden’s father.

Braden, as well as the whole Scasino family, experienced the amazing transformative power of a wish. His wish experience allowed for Braden and his family to spend valuable time together, which can be difficult back home. “The trip was amazing and could not have been more amazing. Everyone went above and beyond and always had a smile on their face… we felt like celebrities!” exclaimed Braden’s father.

Braden’s wish had an enormous impact on Braden and his family. He and our wish kids teach us every day about resilience, overcoming obstacles and about the transformative power of hope.

Unfortunately, Make-A-Wish Connecticut faces a record number of wishes waiting to be granted as a result of the recent need to postpone all wishes that involve travel due to the public and medical concerns of COVID-19. More than ever before, wishes need the support of individual and corporate donors to grant the wish of every eligible child. Learn more and help at ct.wish.org.
