Obituary: Carol Young, 81, of North Haven

NORTH HAVEN, CT - (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home) Carol Young, 81, of North Haven, CT passed away peacefully May 31, 2021 surrounded by family at Connecticut Hospice after a long battle with kidney disease.

She was the widow of George E. Young who predeceased her in 1994. Born March 2, 1940 in New Haven, Mrs. Young was the daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine (Hunt) Fogarty.

Mrs. Young briefly worked at SNET prior to becoming a homemaker. Her great joy were her children who survived her, George T. Young of Cranbury Township, PA, Brian (Jamie) Young of Killingworth, Kathleen (Steven) Boyce of Bethlehem, Eileen (Andrew) Bukowski of South Windsor and Carolyn (Mathew) Wallick of Plainville MA. Her greatest joy were her beloved grandchildren, George, James, Gregory, Thomas, Wesley, Kaitlyn, Katherine, Emma, Jackson, Ian, Samantha, Ryan and AJ.

She will also be dearly missed by multiple cousins and close friends that considered her family.

Mrs. Young was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish for many years.

She also had a deep passion for giving back to her community – for many years serving the homeless in New Haven with the midnight run along with many other charities.

She was predeceased by her loving husband and beautiful granddaughter Katherine who were awaiting her arrival in Heaven.

Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery where she will rejoin her beloved husband on their 56th wedding anniversary. Calling hours will be at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Friday from 5:00-8:00 pm.
