Police Warn Of Phone Scam In North Haven

The caller ID claims the call is coming from the North Haven Police Department.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — North Haven police are warning residents of a phone scam in which the automated call asks for social security information.

“North Haven Police wish to remind everyone we would never contact you over the phone and request your social security number,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “We have received reports of an automated call which prompts the recipient to hit a number to speak with an agent, in regard to action being taken on their social security number.
