Popular Seafood Restaurant Opens In New Location In North Haven
Dino's Seafood is reopening in its new home after more than 50 years in its former location on Route 5 in North Haven.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — A popular longtime seafood restaurant is celebrating a soft opening this weekend at its new location in North Haven.
Dino’s Seafood announced in late April that it was closing “after 54 years of service and memories under the roof of a very nostalgic building” at 540 Washington Ave. on Route 5 in North Haven.
“The immense gratitude we hold for all the staff and customers that have walked in and out of this building will be with us always,” the owners wrote in a post on Facebook on April 28. “We appreciate all of your support throughout this transition and look forward to seeing you” at the new location at 323 Washington Ave.

“It is a bittersweet time for us, but we are very excited for this change and can’t wait for you to experience the new and improved Dino’s!” the post reads.
Chris Fritz, who owns the restaurant with his father Bob Fritz, told the Meriden Record-Journal they wanted to downsize a bit and the new location is a storefront in a newer plaza and more family friendly.

The restaurant will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. for its soft opening on Saturday, June 5.
“A day to work on our new system and routine in our new surroundings,” Dino’s wrote in a post on Facebook on Friday. “It may take some getting used to but we will have the same high quality product. Thank you for your patience in advance and we hope you are as excited as we are here at 323 Washington Ave!”
