Teen, 17, Charged In Armed Carjacking In North Haven: Police
The victim was pistol-whipped several times during the carjacking, which happened late last year outside a restaurant in North Haven.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — A 17-year-old New Haven resident has been arrested in connection with an armed carjacking outside of a restaurant in North Haven last November, according to police.
The incident happened Nov. 13, 2020 in front of Tokyo 2 Sushi at 117 Washington Ave. The victim told police their vehicle was taken from them by several men at gunpoint. The victim was also pistol-whipped several times during the carjacking, according to police.
The victim’s vehicle was found abandoned in New Haven the next day.

“The vehicle was processed by North Haven detectives, who worked with New Haven PD, as it was believed our suspect(s) may have been responsible for crimes in New Haven as well,” North Haven police wrote in a post on Facebook. “After sharing information with area departments, as well as examining physical evidence, detectives were able to secure an arrest warrant for a 17-year-old male from New Haven.”
The juvenile was arrested on charges of second-degree robbery, second-degree assault, third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit second-degree assault and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny. The juvenile, who also has felony warrants from West Haven and New Haven, has been remanded to custody, police said.
